CYCLE OF POVERTY

A circular pattern of circumstances that keep people poor: low income, which prevents them from attaining a good education, which keeps them in low level jobs, which provide low income.

Example:  Because of low income, parents cannot afford to send their children to good schools. As a result, when the children grow up they cannot get high-paying jobs, and remain in poverty, unable to provide good schools for their own children.
