Government measures to reduce unemployment and stimulate economic demand by increasing public spending and imposing a greater tax burden on the wealthy

Example:  Using increased tax revenue to hire more fire fighters, police, public school teachers, human services workers, and other public employees, thus reducing unemployment and giving people more money to spend on consumer goods – which will then increase the number of industrial jobs
