WEALTH
Income-producing
assets, including stocks, bonds,
real estate, saving accounts,
retirement funds,
and trust funds
Example: The upper classes have larger amounts of stocks, bonds, trust funds, and real estate than any other classes, and these generate considerable income, while middle-class assets are more likely to consist of small amounts of savings and retirement funds, and possibly the house or condominium in which one lives. These assets produce little or no income.
