The following questions will guide your reading for this week and will serve as a basis for class discussion. Please prepare an answer to the question that corresponds with your assigned number in your small group. You may also use one or more of these questions as a starting point for your fifth or sixth essay.
1. What connection does Chua see between the murder of her beloved aunt in 1994 and the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001? What could be done to reduce globalized hate?
2. How would an analysis of inequalities of power in the world system help us to understand the increase in car bombs described by Huq? 4. With reference to the article by Sager et al., what are the particular forms of criminal activity that are found on the Internet? What do you think that people can do to protect themselves from Internet-based crime?
5. According to Sager et al., what are the specific problems involved in dealing with criminal activities on the Internet? Do you think that there is any way that these activities could be stopped? Why or why not?
